Mariani speaks about her years of study with Aldo Ciccolini at the International Academy of Music in Biella, the work on her hand extension — «as a girl I loved Rachmaninov, Liszt and Prokofiev and wanted to play all of their music, but certain passages posed a massive challenge for my hands» — and the encounter with Schumann that followed, up to the album Ethics, Aesthetics.
